LIVEWAY STUDIO RE-LAUNCHES

Liveway Productions unveils Liveway Studio, a state of the art studio, tailored to meet all types of production needs.

Liveway studio, which is located at 15 Eric Moore close, Off Eric Moore road Surulere, combines a comprehensive package including Event & Web video services, Video Production, Web Integration, Shaky cam and live streaming services. The studio will be of tremendous value to musicians, music producers, video directors, event organizers, religious organizations, and advertizing agencies. “We used to be known for private live streaming services, Internet TV and internet radio but this time, we are opening the studio for more services and easy public patronage”, said Mr. Solomon Onita the C.E.O of the company. “We have prepared this place to literally ‘wow’ clients with our topnotch services.

A lot of individuals and organizations employ various productions means to communicate to their target audience each year. “With Liveway Studio, many independent producers and entrepreneurs will now be able to meet their production needs,” said Mr. Onita.

Liveway Production is the umbrella body of the popular online broadcast television called Liveway.TV and Liveway.FM. Its online TV handles various projects including church services, webinars and webmercials. The company’s mission is to surpass ordinary design in order to develop unique, inspirational, and professional multimedia experiences. Apart from the Lagos branch, they have offices in London and Houston, Texas.

ULTIMA STUDIOS AND THE FIRE INCIDENT

In spite of the mysterious fire that ravaged Ultima Studios on Sunday, August 22, 2010, the company has stated that their two currently running productions WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE? and MTN PROJECT FAME WEST AFRICA 3 would continue as scheduled.

A recording for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire had just ended, when crew members noticed a minor fire, late Sunday. But what started as a little ball soon turned
into huge flames as extinguishers failed to contain the fire.

Staff and contestants who were housed in the Academy were promptly
evacuated. There were no injuries nor lives lost. However, both the studios for WWTBAM and MTN Project Fame West Africa were badly hit and invaluable equipment lost to the inferno.

Ultima CEO, Femi Ayeni, told reporters on the site, Sunday, "although the incident is catastrophic and the loss shattering, we're grateful to God that no lives were lost. The contestants are safe and we are confident that the show will go on, and in no time at all we will be back on air, so keep watching."

Early visitors to the site included MTN's GM Consumer Marketing, Kola Oyeyemi. MTN, Nigeria's largest telecoms company, is the sole sponsor of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and the title sponsors for Project Fame West Africa. "This is a
monumental disaster. We can't even begin to comprehend the personal, emotional and material loss. But in all we thank God that no lives were lost. MTN is committed to enriching lives through our different
services, properties and initiatives and we are already discussing with our partners at Ultima on how to make sure this tragedy does not distract us" he said.

Ultima is determined to take this incident in its stride and plans are on to return to full and enhanced production of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Project Fame West Africa.

The show which is sponsored by Cadbury's Buttermint will premier on MTV base (DStv Channel 322), STV and AIT start from this week.

Brilliant rapper, M.I, alongside multi-talented Sound Sultan as well as beautiful vocalist, Wande Coal and others have been sneaking into some of the hottest hangouts in Lagos with the host - VJ C-VON to ambush fans with an impromptu questions.

The initiative is powered to check how much artistes, sports stars, DJs, actors, actresses and fans know about Nigerian music and street culture through a series of specially designed MTV base questions on Nigerian artistes, personalities, song lyrics and more.

Recorded in various campuses, neighbourhoods and local spots around
Lagos, Nigeria, Base IQ's major aim is to give young Nigerians the chance to represent where they come from by putting their musical knowledge to test.

Base IQ kicks off today (August 18, 2010) and divided into two series. Series 1 will run for thirteen fast paced episodes while series 2 will continue in January 2011.

Meet The Nominees Of MTV Video Music Awards 2010

MTV Networks Africa announced the nominees of the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, with Lady Gaga leading the way with an incredible thirteen nods including “Best Pop Video,” “Best Female Video” and “Best Dance Music Video” for her global chart topping hit “Bad Romance.” No stranger to breaking records, Gaga can now boast having the most nominations ever in a single Video Music Awards as well as being the first female artist nominated for two different videos in the “Video of the Year” category for “Bad Romance” and “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé.

Coming off the success of his latest album, Eminem is this year’s most nominated male artist, racking up eight nominations including “Best Male Video,” and “Video of the Year” for “Not Afraid.” VMA newcomer, Kesha is up for three plaques with her song - “Tik Tok” while up and coming rapper B.O.B has an impressive five nominations including in the “Best Hip-Hop” category for “Airplanes” against “Forever” by Drake. Other artists receiving first time VMA nominations are Justin Bieber for “Best New Artist” for his hit single “Baby,” indie favorite Florence + The Machine with five noms for “Dog Days Are Over” and Jason Derulo for “In My Head.” In addition, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Pink, 30 Seconds To Mars, Katy Perry and Usher are also nominated for Moonmen this year.

The “2010 MTV Video Music Awards” will take place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 21H00 (Eastern Time).

TUNDE AND WUNMI OBE UNVEIL NEW ALBUM

"We are too legit to quit" Wunmi Obe told news men with a bold, assuring look early this week at an exclusive event to
announce the release of their quintet album.

And like she guarantees, the album "T.W.O Legit" stands as evidence. Produced by ID Cabasa, Puffy T, Abel Davey, Rymzo, Sean Keyz and Foster Zeeno, the LP takes us on a journey of dance tracks, thanksgiving songs and family friendly songs.

"The album was conceived during the time it was rumored that we had quit music for TV, we even recorded a song to that effect" Tunde Obe says.

"We are definitely in this for good, and as we keep saying, we are too
legit to quit", Wunmi adds.

"Believe in me" was also premiered earlier this week.

Tunde and Wunmi Obe started as lead singers in a campus band 'Turning point' in the 80's but got popular Nationwide with their popular weekly television slots on the Charley boy show and Zoom time.

In 2009, the Entertainment industry went agog with the news that the couple were returning to TV, one thing they were known for in the 90s, but they were quick to reassure fans they were not in any way considering quitting music. They quickly returned with "Zombie", a single that enjoyed massive airplay on radio and TV stations across the country.

The Obes stretched the limits in their last album; producing major hits like "Mogbomoya", "Adupe" and "Like A Fool" but the new album brings a lot more to the table. With songs like "Get This Party Started", "T.W.O Legit", "Forms" and already established songs like "Fine Bara" and "Zombie" fans will have a lot of humor-soaked messages to take away.

"It is nothing like you have seen before, it is the best album we have ever done, and we hope the fans will connect with the music" Tunde assured.

LISTEN TO KENNY DA VINCI

If you see this dude moving gently with his walking stick or crutches, you will think he is “physically challenged” but you will be so wrong after meeting him. Real name Ekene Ngige a.k.a Kenny Da Vinci is a load of talent looking for the next angle to explore.

He told us about his music beginning in secondary school – Federal Government College, when Mo’hits producer, Don jazzy would trade freestyle with him and some of his friends during their leisure time. The same school produced other artistes like Wande Coal, Eva, Teeto and O.C the young Nollywood actor.

He later joined a friend called Caleb to form a group called ‘WORD 2 WORD’ and they went from one Church to the other, serenading them with their unique style of music. They eventually broke up after Caleb gained admission far from Lagos.

Kenny continued alone to become one of the finalist in the Brothers With Voices/Sisters With Voices MUSICAL TALENT HUNT organized by Kenny Saint Brown in 2005. He was a guest artiste in the CITY PEOPLE AWARDS organized specially for Keke and D1 that same year. After a couple of performances here and there, he decided to lay low in order to focus on his education.

Talking about being multi-talented, Kenny Da Vinci, who curbed his moniker from the legendary artist, Leonardo Da Vinci is also a fine artist. He got an award as the best artist in his secondary school days. Today, the graduate of Fine Arts (Yabatech) is Hip on TV’s graphic editor, handling several projects including visuals for Hip Hop World Awards.
